About Great Potential

The mission of the Great Potential Program is to educate, motivate and encourage students in our partner school districts to achieve the highest possible levels of personal and academic success. Great Potential is a program of the Regional Partnership of Schools and Colleges at Purchase College, State University of New York. Supported by Liberty Partnerships Program, Great Potential provides comprehensive academic services to prepare students for high school graduation, post-secondary education and the workforce.

>	The Great Potential Program has a 98% graduation rate with 40 active seniors who went on to secondary education. Keep up the good work!
>	Great Potential has expanded programming to Peekskill Middle School of the Peekskill City School District and Alexander Hamilton Middle school of the Elmsford Public School District thanks to Westchester County Invest in Kids Funding.
>	Great Potential is looking forward to sponsoring its students to prepare for the New SAT with “Goldquest-The College Connoisseur” in New Rochelle.

>	Albert Leonard Middle School of the New Rochelle City School District As a part of the “Anti-Bullying Campaign,” 75 students of Albert Leonard Middle School experienced the live music performance of Brooklyn’s own Hasidic Reggae vocalist and Jewish rapper, Mattissuyahu. His remarkable performance promoted cultural solidarity and opened many minds.
>	Mount Vernon High School of the Mount Vernon City School District Students from Mount Vernon attended the “Brown Plus Fifty” Brown vs. Board of Education Celebration at (NYU) New York University in Manhattan. This was an extremely positive event for our students who attended all-day workshops and met faculty and students from across the state.

College Career Fair at Iona - March 22, 2005. This event is for the Mid Hudson Pre-College Programs; Marist College, Rockland Community College, Orange Community College and Iona College.

4th Annual Empire Promise Summit - “Moving from Vision to Excellence”
April 7-9, 2005 – at the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson, NY.

NAACP-ACTSO Competition - April 16, 2005.

Legislative Forum- February 7-8 at the Marriott Hotel, Albany, NY. Scholarships are available to Liberty Partnership High School students on a first-come, first-served basis; all expenses will be paid.

Junior Achievement of the Hudson Valley Inc. Awards Dinner- March 3, 2005 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.
