Fall 2004 – Great Potential Annual Job Shadow

28 middle school students from the districts of Greenburgh, Tarrytown, Peekskill and Ossining participated in Great Potential’s Annual Job Shadow Day held at Purchase College, State University of New York. They “shadowed” 14 University Professionals, including Purchase College President Thomas J. Schwarz. More Ms. Andrea Minoff, the Assistant to the President, and Murielle Atine of the Performing Arts Center led their students on a mini tour throughout the costume shop of the Performing Arts Center. Jim McElwaine, Faculty, and Andrew Cardenas, Chief Engineer of the Music Conservatory, engaged students in a hands-on studio recording session. Students spent quality time with Directors, Staff Assistants and Faculty in departments such as: The Conservatory of Theater Arts and Film, Computing Information Systems, Library, Admissions, Physical Education and Athletics, University Police and Parking, Purchase College Association, Upward Bound and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP).
