Spring 2004 In Courage, LLC 1st Annual “Rise” Seminar

Great Potential and In Courage LCC held its first multimedia seminar entitled "R.I.S.E" (Realistic, Inspirational, Strategies for Everyday Living) at Purchase College last spring. This event was a collaborative effort to provide practical motivation and encouragement for the parents and friends of the Great Potential Program and In Courage LLC.

More Distinguished journalist, Melba Tolliver, former television news anchor of Channel 7 Eyewitness News was the guest speaker. Ms. Tolliver captured the heart of the audience with tales of her life journey which included being the first African American anchor woman in New York City.

In addition, singer-actress, Irene Datcher, performed a one-woman theatrical reflection of her life through a fusion of jazz, blues and funk gospel. The audience was engaged as Ms. Datcher wove her touching life experience accompanied by her live band’s extraordinary musical performance.
